Unconfirmed: check with the funder

We couldn’t confirm these on an official page. Treat them as open questions, not facts.

  • ?Whether a small private school or microschool without a food-program track record would be competitive.
  • ?Whether later phases will open after Phase One.

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Read the RFA and FAQ on the ARCF page
  2. Step 2: Line up partners if your school is small
  3. Step 3: Send the Notice of Intent by November 23 (optional but asked for)
  4. Step 4: Apply online by December 7, 2026

Funders change their requirements. Check the official page before you apply. Getting ready? See what funders usually ask for.

Who can apply

“Be a 501(c)(3) organization, or a hospital, government entity, and/or educational institution (e.g., schools and universities).”
In the funder’s own words, from arcf.org, checked Oct 10, 2026.

The RFA also says the lead group must have "a demonstrated track record working in Arkansas" on food insecurity, nutrition or food access, and that "Smaller organizations are encouraged to partner with other organizations". Pure nutrition-education projects without a sustainability plan, and food-only purchases, won't be funded. The RFA even names school food access coordinators as an idea.

  • Arkansas 501(c)(3) or school
  • Track record in food insecurity, nutrition or food access
  • Project must address policy or systems change and last past the grant
  • Board and staff list, budget, Form 990 or audit if any

Timing

Applications open October 1 to December 7, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Central). Notice of Intent requested by November 23. Awards announced February 2027. This is Phase One of a $10 million program.
