Unconfirmed: check with the funder

We couldn’t confirm these on an official page. Treat them as open questions, not facts.

  • ?Whether a for-profit microschool counts as a 'school' here.
  • ?Whether the mini-grant repeats every year (the page lists past years of recycling grants).

Who can apply

“Grants up to $500 will be awarded to schools, civic organizations”
In the funder’s own words, from bostonmountain.org, checked Oct 10, 2026.

The announcement says "Applying organizations must reside in Washington or Madison counties." Money buys equipment and teaching materials for recycling, composting, vermiculture or other waste reduction (examples: recycling bins, water filling stations, compost bins). You buy first and get reimbursed from receipts. The application needs a signed approval from the school head.

  • School or nonprofit in Washington or Madison County
  • Waste-reduction project
  • Signed approval from the principal or director
  • Buy first, then get reimbursed; final report by December 1, 2027

Timing

Email the application to the district by December 1, 2026. Winners are told by January 1, 2027.
