Who can apply

“Any self-operated school, public or private, participating in the National School Lunch Program is eligible to apply for the grant.”
In the funder’s own words, from thelunchbox.org, checked Oct 5, 2026.

The school must run its own food service (not a food service management company), offer the salad bar as part of the reimbursable meal, serve grades K–12 and enroll at least 100 students. The food services director must be involved, with a verification form signed by the superintendent. The bars suit sites serving at least 100 reimbursable meals a day.
