Who can apply

“Employees of a public school district, private school, community college district, or accredited university, college, vocational, or trade school”
In the funder’s own words, from dar.academicworks.com, checked Oct 9, 2026.

A teacher or administrator applies, not the school. The project must tie to the American Revolution theme and run during the 2026-27 school year. You need endorsements from your principal or supervisor and from a local DAR chapter (Chapter Regent or Community Classroom Committee Chair). DAR will not fund salaries, furniture or classroom sets of Chromebooks or iPads. Staff at the DAR School and DAR Approved Schools can't apply.

  • Applicant is a school employee who teaches or supports instruction
  • Project tied to the American Revolution theme
  • Endorsement from your principal or supervisor
  • Endorsement from a local DAR chapter
  • Project must happen in the 2026-27 school year

Timing

Applications opened September 1, 2026 and are due November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific. Money is awarded no later than March 15, 2027.
