Who can apply

“We award $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 scholarships to gifted and high-achieving students, 18 years old or under, who have completed a significant piece of work.”

Students apply, not schools. They must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents living in the U.S. (or overseas on active U.S. military duty). Categories are science, technology, engineering, math, literature, music, philosophy and “Outside the Box”; visual arts, film and community service projects aren't eligible. Two nominators are needed, and teams of two are allowed.

  • 18 or younger at the application deadline
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident living in the U.S.
  • A significant completed project in an eligible category
  • Two nominators; attend the awards event with a parent

The 2027 application “will open in the Fall of 2026” (no date posted yet). Last year's deadline was February 18, 2026.
