Who can apply

“Grants are also available to help churches and Christian organizations start or expand their service to individuals navigating disability.”
In the funder’s own words, from joniandfriends.org, checked Oct 14, 2026.

For churches and Christian organizations (a sponsoring official signs a Statement of Faith), and for individuals with disabilities sponsored by one. The organization must put its own money into the project, and if the project costs more than $2,500, 80% must already be funded. Fundable items include ramps and lifts, accessible bathrooms, special needs classroom equipment, a braille printer and disability-ministry training. Not for salaries or general operating costs. Applicants are typically limited to one award. Families can also apply for a child's needs through a church or Christian group sponsor; the money goes to the sponsor, not to the family.

  • Church or Christian organization with a specific disability-related need
  • One-page endorsement letter from the sponsor on letterhead, signed by an officer
  • Signed Statement of Faith
  • Organization contributes to the budget
  • Projects over $2,500 must be 80% funded before applying
  • Written price quote for every item, W-9 and Hold Harmless Agreement
  • Typically one grant award per applicant

Timing

Current deadline is November 1, 2026. There are four cycles a year (February to May, May to August, August to November, November to February); contact the grant coordinator for the next date.
