Unconfirmed: check with the funder

We couldn’t confirm these on an official page. Treat them as open questions, not facts.

  • ?Whether a co-op teacher who isn't employed by a school qualifies outside the homeschool-educator invitation

Who can apply

“Any high school educator currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States or internationally.”
In the funder’s own words, from nshss.org, checked Oct 9, 2026.

NSHSS adds: “We invite school social workers, counselors, homeschool educators, test prep professionals, teachers, administrators, etc. to register for free as an NSHSS educator and begin applying for NSHSS grants.” Most grants ask for a principal or administrator recommendation. An educator can win one NSHSS grant per calendar year. Only for educators who work with high school students.

  • Works with high school students
  • Free NSHSS educator registration
  • Principal or administrator recommendation (most grants)
  • One NSHSS grant per calendar year

Each grant has its own deadline (11:59 p.m. Eastern): professional development and higher education close October 14, 2026; school supplies, school club and classroom digital access close October 28, 2026; Educator of the Year closes March 18, 2027. New rounds usually open in late May.
