Who can apply
“Grants may be awarded to organizations within Pioneer Electric’s primary service area (Butler, Dallas, Lowndes and Wilcox counties)”
The group must be inside Pioneer Electric's service territory and serve or provide services to Pioneer Electric members. Being in one of the four counties is not enough on its own. Education is a listed need, and a high school appears among past organization recipients. The foundation will not fund churches or religious organizations, so a church-run school is very likely ineligible. A secular private school or co-op should ask first. Approved groups must sign a notarized release.
- Located in Pioneer Electric's service territory (Butler, Dallas, Lowndes or Wilcox county)
- Serve or provide services to Pioneer Electric members
- Mission statement and full project description
- IRS 501(c)(3) documentation, if applicable
- List of board of directors
- Three letters of recommendation
- Notarized release of liability if approved
Timing
No application deadline is posted. The foundation board meets bimonthly, quarterly, or when the chair sets a meeting, and reviews the list of applicants at its meetings. Ask Pioneer Electric when the next review is.
