Who can apply

“Organizations must be recognized as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – either independently or under a group exemption – or be a public library to be eligible for TechSoup and our corporate partners’ nonprofit programs.”
In the funder’s own words, from support.techsoup.org, checked Oct 2, 2026.

A church that never applied for IRS recognition can't join: TechSoup says “Places of worship that are automatically tax-exempt, or self declare, are not eligible.” A church covered by its denomination's group exemption can. A school and its church need two separate TechSoup accounts.

  • IRS 501(c)(3) public charity (your own letter or a group exemption)
